KVKK, as the host of the GPA 2022, participated in the GPA Executive Committee meeting on November 23, 2021 for the first time, which is responsible for managing and representing the Global Privacy Assembly where more than 130 data authorities are represented globally.

The 68th ExCo Meeting was held virtually on March 17, 2022 between 22.00 and 23.00 Turkish time, with the participation of the data protection authorities of Mexico, Bermuda, Argentina, Germany, Morocco and Australia, as well as our Authority.

At the Meeting chaired by the Mexican Data Protection Authority (INAI), topics such as the current status of the GPA Strategic Plan, the future of the GPA Secretariat, presidential election of the Reference Panel and the accreditation processes of authorities wishing to become GPA members were discussed.

In the meantime, since the 44th GPA Conference will be held in Türkiye by our Authority, KVKK President Prof. Dr. Faruk BILIR provided information about the upcoming conference. In addition, the roadmap that our Authority is planning to follow during the preparations for the GPA Conference was introduced with a presentation.
