Tamer Aksoy was born in Ankara in 1968. He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Finance in 1989. He received his Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Colorado (University of Colorado at Denver) in the United States in 1997-1999, where he was sent by the State for educational purposes.
He started his civil service in 1989 after passing the entrance exam of the Ministry of Finance for Deputy Finance Inspector position. Then he was appointed as the Finance Inspector, passing the professional competency exam in 1993.
From 2002 to 2007, he served as Vice-President of the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) of the Ministry of Finance.
Between 2007-2010, he served as the Financial Attaché of the Consulate General of Türkiye in Stuttgart, Germany.
After completing his duty abroad, he was appointed as the Chief Inspector of Finance. He became the Chief Inspector of taxes in 2011.
In the 2015-2020 period, he worked as the Group Advisor to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, as a temporary official.
Due to his works throughout his professional life, he specialized in auditing, finance, and prevention of money laundering, and gained knowledge and experience in the fields of tax, administrative and criminal law. He worked as an instructor in vocational subjects, participated in meetings abroad, and also served as a lecturer at Vocational School of Justice, in Faculty of Law of Gazi University.
He holds a Certified Public Accountant License and CFE (Certified Fraud Expert) certificate.
He is married and has 1 child. He speaks English fluently and is intermediate in German.
He was elected as a member of the Board of the Protection of Personal Data from the Republican People’s Party Group with the decision of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye on 07 October 2020.
