Cennet ALAS ŞEKERBAY was born in Tarsus in 1987. After graduating from Selçuk University Faculty of Law in 2009, she earned her master's degree in 2013 from the Department of Civil Law at Gazi University, Institute of Social Sciences. Currently, she is pursuing her doctorate in the Department of Intellectual Property Law PhD Program at Ankara University, Institute of Social Sciences.

She completed her legal internship at Ankara Bar Association and then worked as Assistant Culture and Tourism Expert at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Copyrights General Directorate from 2011 to 2014, subsequently as Culture and Tourism Expert at the same Directorate from 2014 to 2020, and later served as the Deputy Head of Department at the Data Management Department of the Personal data Protection Authority from 2020 to 2023.

Throughout her career, ŞEKERBAY has contributed to many studies in the fields of Intellectual Property, Technology Policies and Innovation Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, and Personal Data Protection. Her work has been published in both peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed publications. Fluent in English, she is married and has two children.

ŞEKERBAY was elected as a member of the Personal Data Protection Board on 6 April 2023 from the Justice and Development Party Group by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
